For More Stories Like These
Montreal may be a ways away from the homeland of Oktoberfest, Germany, but that hasn’t stopped us from taking the opportunity to partake in the rituals. Who wouldn’t want an excuse to drink giant steins of beer and eat delicious German sausage and sauerkraut? I know I do.
Here are 6 Oktoberfest events happening in and around Montreal for you to get your drink on.
1. Beau’s Oktoberfest
Just outside of Quebec, in Vankleek Hill, Ontario, Beau’s Oktoberfest will be raging from October 2-3 at the Vankleek Hill Fairgrounds. They will have 14 different kinds of beer, including 5 new Beau’s beers that have yet to been released. There will also be quite a few musical guests including Yukon Blonde and Alvvays. It’s sure to be a rocking good time.
2. Marché Atwater Oktoberfest
From October 2-4, our very own Marche Atwater will be hosting an amazing Oktoberfest. More than 40 micro-breweries from all over Montreal will come together to give you the best few days ever. The best part is that beer coupons are 3 for $1 – how amazing is that?! Plus, fifty cents from every dollar will go to the Montreal Children’s Hospital so you can feel even better while throwing back a few glasses. If you start to feel a little peckish, the market’s merchants will be serving up some festive Oktoberfest treats.
3. Sherbrooke Oktoberfest
On October 2nd starting at 6pm, you can head on over to Université de Sherbrooke for their Oktoberfest where you’ll be able to taste some delicious Bavarian food and then wash it all down with imported authentic beers. Local musicians will also be there to provide a soundtrack to what is sure to be an epic night.
4. Das Bier Oktoberfest
For an Oktoberfest that’s filled with beer and games, Das Bier is where you need to be. From October 1-4 their Oktoberfest will give you the chance to drink tons of beer, play beer pong, eat sausage, and enter to win $4000 worth of prizes. And best of all it’s right here in Montreal.
5. Oktoberfest Ottawa
While it’s a little bit of a drive to get there, Oktoberfest Ottawa is a definite must. Not only do they have an amazing selection of beer, cider, wine and food, they’re also home to the world’s largest beer tent (340ft) which they’re planning on making even longer this year. This is not a party that you’ll want to miss.
