I’ve been going to Breck’s Oktoberfest since living there in 99′. It continues to be one of the best in the high country. Paulaner’s beers are always a hit. And Breckenridge Brewery is a local favorite.
They close off blocks of Main St, and along with the many varieties of draft beers, there’s: wines, brats, smoked salmon, strudel, etc. All in a quaint mtn town. A German band keeps you in the festival spirit. There’s picnic tables available, and the Blue River runs just off Main St, families bring their kids, and have them jumping from rock to rock in the Blue. They usually have a ski /board tent set up, selling gear also. There are clean restrooms just off Main St, in a visitors center.
I live in Denver now, and never miss Breck’s Oktoberfest. Last year, I booked a condo for Saturday, brought the family, and the mtn bikes. We all had a great time. It can be crowded, but, I think that it gets better every year. Nothing like the mtns in the fall….
